Junction One – backing local people and the local community throughout Northern Ireland
Since opening in May 2004 Junction One has supported a huge range of sporting events, clubs, charities, regional and community initiatives and we’ve been delighted to play our part in helping organisations throughout Northern Ireland.
Junction One is proud to have undertaken a two year spell as title sponsor of Ireland’s largest outdoor sporting event, the International North West 200 helping the road race enhance and expand its local and global profile as well as gaining a prestigious CIPR Pride Award for Best Event in 2004. Junction One’s title sponsorship of the high profile and popular Miss Northern Ireland competition organised by Alison Campbell gave us the opportunity to showcase our extensive range of fashion brands and contribute to this annual and highly regarded Northern Ireland wide event.
Junction One also lent its name to the Antrim regional heat of the world wide Rose of Tralee competition. A budding young actress called Jayne Wisener won the Junction One Antrim Rose of Tralee but unbelievably didn’t make the final of the Rose of Tralee. However the Coleraine performer has gone on to achieve fabulous success starring alongside Johnny Depp in the Demon Barber of Fleet Street!
Junction One’s contribution to local sport includes a 5 year tenure backing top ladies hockey club Randalstown who have achieved cup and league success over the years and also Randalstown youth rugby.
Junction One continues to play its part in the local community and we’re pleased to work alongside Antrim Borough Council managing and organising the annual Hallowe’en Fireworks Festival which attracts thousands of visitors each year. Also working with Antrim Borough Council, Junction One annually hosts top motorsport event, the Todds Leap Ulster Rally which takes place during August. The high octane and multi-award winning 2 day event brings visitors and tourists from all over the world to the Antrim region.
The farming community plays an important role in Northern Ireland and Junction One has supported it for the past number of years working in partnership with the Newsletter’s top publication Farming Life. Its Junction One sponsored Farmers’ Little Helper initiative is hugely popular with readers and attracts an excellent range of entries for its attractive photographic competition which boasts £1000 worth of prizes from Junction One.
